Adding easy runs

What if you want to add easy runs into the 100 day marathon plan ?

"Hello,
I was wondering if, just because your plan calls for 4 days of running, can I run more days than that during the week? Your plan calls for two days of easy running. I would like to do one more easy day per week. Is this bad? How should I work it in?

Thank you. "

Answer: Hi, Ryan, the simple answer to this is yes. You can add extra run in there but I will give you a few tips :

- Try and limit those to below 50 minutes. Above 50 minutes or so it may eat into the rest of the training. It is then better to place two runs of say 40 minutes in there.

- Be extra careful and run easy on these. Always Effort 1.

- Make sure to have at least one day with total rest.

- Do not add in there hard runs - only the easy comfortable ones. The hard training in the 100 day plan is already plenty so you want to keep them like they are.

I wish you all the best with your training !

kind regards,
Marius
