Could not run for one week

Adjusting a missed week of training :

"This is my first marathon and while doing the 2 1/2 hour run in Week 11, I was bitten by a dog and could not train for a week. Do I double up on the week that I go back, meaning still complete week 11 and 12 in week 12, or just continue on week 12?


Answer:Hi Rob and thanks for your question.

You want to skip the "lost" week IF you do not have time for an "extra" week in the program. And DO NOT try to catch-up on the training. Just look at it as an extra period of super-tapering leading up to the marathon. So no worries at all -look at it in a positive perspective.
