"Recovery" after Half Marathon race during marathon training

Half marathon 8 weeks before a marathon :

"After a Half Marathon race at almost full effort 8 weeks before the goal full marathon, should the workouts the following week be adjusted to fully recover before continuation of the program?
Note! Following a 3:15 to 3:30 program but never ran a marathon before.

Hi Bengt and thanks for your question.

Now, a half marathon 8 weeks before a marathon in the 100 day plan, means in the middle of the marathon specific weeks and in that case you need at least 5-7 days of recovery, in order to be able to grasp the very hard work in either one of these weeks. A half marathon is not ideal during those weeks, but that is the approach you want to follow, if you've already have gone through with it!
