Placing the runs with hard + easy long runs

"I'm training on the 4:00 hour training plan. At week 7 the first session is hard and the second is long. Should I slip an easy run in between the hard run and long run?
Jim"

Answer: Hi Jim and thanks for your question.

You should aim for either a rest day or an easy run in between those two, as both are very demanding. However, having said that - if your schedule does not allow this (due to practical things) - you may do one of the very long runs the day after a hard one. This does not apply to two hard days of intense running in a row - you should avoid this at any cost. But you can get away with a very long runs the day after an intense, hard session without much problems usually.

all the best,
Marius
